Affinity Designer 2: Practical Graphic Design for Crafters Jun 6, 13, 20

In this class, our focus is to empower you as a crafter to harness the potential of vector and image files for creating projects for sublimation, sticker making, marketing, and more. We will be focusing on the foundations of Affinity Designer as it applies to crafting. By understanding the interface, and exploring the essential tools, you’ll gain skills and confidence to navigate the software.

While it is exciting to think about editing and creating vector graphics, we will touch on the basics of vector files only. This class is designed to get you crafting and working with your existing files and create amazing projects mainly for sublimation.

This 3 week course will cover: from 5 pm to 7 pm

• Interface 
• File types
• Working with and creating documents and templates.
  
• Importing designs from files downloaded from image libraries such as Creative Fabrica.
  
• Manipulating the layers panel
  
• Using text
  
• Saving and exporting files and file types
• Understanding resolution

WHAT TO BRING: 

Each station is equipped with a laptop that has Affinity Designer installed. You are welcome to bring your own computer if you have Affinity Designer 2 installed. 

Each week homework will be assigned. If you do not have Affinity on a computer at home, you are welcome to come in and use a station during business hours. 

We will also be creating a Facebook Group where we will communicate with each other, share content, and help each other. Upon request, Shelley will host Facebook Live events in the group to answer any questions once per week.

Updates will be posted as well from time to time and you'll be able to connect with other members who are also learning for peer support.

You can share your creations with the group. Be ready for constructive feedback to better your craft!
